CGA is a pretty convenient park and it's really allowed me to cover the major developments of RailBlazer, but also the smaller happenings around the park.
Upon seeing an empty queue right after rope drop, I decided to start my day with the classic Celebration Swings.
RailBlazerOf course the beef of why I was there was of course to cover the events of the park's latest investment.
If you want to know more, head on over to the update here. |
The first thing that caught my eye is that the newly renovated bathrooms were painted a tanish-beige color(left) different from the original off-white(right). My only thing is that why were these bathrooms painted these bright (ish) colors when the area doesn't have a bright (persay) color palette. I think the colors of the bathrooms next to Food Festival (shown below) should have been what these were painted because they have more a outdoors/national park look to them, but for now it's fine.
Unfortunately Whitewater Falls was closed that morning. I'm not sure if it had to do with timing, but there was a maintenance employee heading up (left). It did open up later though.
A concrete slab in the queue of Peanuts Pirates. Does anyone know what this is for?
A wood top for the Peanuts Meet-n-Greet building in Planet Snoopy... Not sure how long it's been there... Could it be a signal???
Also, an update on the Peanuts Playhouse: it's been nearly demolished. Other than the roof and some of the stage, it's just a bunch of rubble now. I smell a waterpark expansion, but we'll have to wait and see. :)

Unfortunately the Von Roll system doesn't start moving until an hour or so after opening so getting around before it opens is a bit tasking.
However that was made up by a first of the day back row ride on goldie... Which was then met with a bit of a headache. I may not be as resilient with wooden coasters as I use to.
Here's me being one with the wood...
Next up was lunch at Maggie's. This time the tri-tip platter. It was okay, but it'd be better warm.
New benches appeared to have been stained a darker brown now line the Whitewater falls side of the bridge.
Railings and gates were recently added to the refreshment stand next to Drop Tower, likely to prevent theft from passers-by and also congestion in the midway. The line now forms and heads towards Tiki Twirl.
Tiki Twirl, one of my favorite rides in the park, was still closed on Saturday, but fear not, it started testing on Sunday so hopefully it can be open when I stop by again on Saturday the 28th. Here's also a view inside the on-board control room as maintenance was in there taking a look.
Mass Effect: new Earth was again sporting one of the shortest lines. Perhaps it's time for some new destinations from MRG. Also some of the fog/CO2 effects were back up working again, but still nothing from the ceiling.
Flight Deck. Don't ask questions.
I spent a lot of time filming a video on the park's time capsule. For that video click here.
Operations were good on Psycho Mouse which was running all seven cars. Bravo. :)
There were also some reports that there were RMC people looking at Grizzly. I did not see any marks, but even if it were to happen, I doubt that it would be in the next 2-4 years, but we'll just have to wait and see.
